25 Nigerian Pilgrims Arrested For Theft In Saudi Arabia.

A least 25 Nigerians ostensibly in Saudi Arabia to perform this year’s Hajj have been arrested for stealing.
The thieves, whose identities were yet to be disclosed, “but all with prior criminal records, have been arrested in Makkah,” according to Saudi Gazette, quoting Makkah police spokesman, Lt.-Col. Abdul Mohsin Al-Maiman.

“The thieves robbed pilgrims inside the grand mosque and broke into several shops and houses in Makkah. Several members of the gang were arrested red-handed and they guided the police to other members, who were hiding in an old building on Al-Mansour St.

“No fewer than 80 cell phones and over SR50,000 in currency were seized from them,” the report said. About 1.38 million pilgrims from Nigeria and 117 other countries are performing the Hajj this year, according to Saudi Minister of Interior and Chairman of the Supreme Hajj Committee, Prince Muhammad Bin Naif.

Nigeria’s 5 Most Humble Celebrities

1.  2Face Idibia
There is nobody on earth that could contest 2Face’s position on this list.  Say what you want about his marital life, or the life of his baby mamas.. One thing for sure is that 2Face is always kind and giving to his fans.  Never does he act proud, or carry himself like he is more than he is.  Even though he is an international superstar who has opened the doors for SO MANY young Nigerian artists who are making it big in this day and age.

2. Olamide
The voice of the street! EVERYONE LOVES OLAMIDE. Men, Women, Boys, Girls. Everyone loves Olamide period.  Because he raps from his heart.  He doesn’t try to fake an accent.  He doesn’t try to fit a mold just to try and break into a different genre. It may have taken him a little bit of time, but Olamide is now officially in the spotlight. He is now officially in the lime light.  He is probably among Nigeria’s top 3 most sought after musicians today.

3. Genevieve
The beautiful Genevieve. Many call her the most beautiful woman in Africa. Whether you agree or not, one thing is for sure…She’s a damn good actress with a classy and sophisticated fashion sense! She is praised by many around the globe, and she always takes time to remember where she comes from.  Even when baited to bad mouth her country in international news interviews, she refuses to say anything bad about Naija. Got to love her for that!

4. Don Jazzy
Don Baba! Don Jay! Don Jazzy is probably one of the most vocal celebrities out there.  But we’ve never known him for being vocal in a negative manner.  He has fun conversing with his fans on twitter, and if it’s the right day.. He’ll even throw out a couple of free recharge cards!

5. Funke Akindele
Despite the controversy surrounding her divorce right now, Funke Akindele is still managing to make us smile with her movie roles.  She has sky rocketed into the lime light ever since her role in Jenifa, and she has managed to maintain a humble and appreciative attitude throughout.  She’s a beautiful and very entertaining actress.

Kano State Bans Keke Napep From Carrying Both Male & Female Passengers Together

THE NEW SHARIA LAW IN KANO STATE, NIGERIA!!!

According to Yahoo News:

Police have been given orders to arrest any cab driver carrying men and women together in the confined space of the three-wheeled taxis

“The way and manner some of the commercial tricycle operators engage in indecent dressing and carry men and women together is disturbing,” said Yusuf Yola, spokesman for the Hisbah board that is responsible for ensuring compliance with Sharia laws in Kano.
He said such dress, with pants cut off just below the knee like Bermuda shorts, also was “un-Hausa,” referring to the biggest tribe in Nigeria’s north.Usually it’s women who are the target of the Islamic police checking that they have properly covered their heads and limbs.

Yola told The Associated Press on Monday that 10,000 officers will be deployed to ensure the laws are enforced, including “a law in the state which prohibits gender mix in commercial vehicles.”He said officers have orders to stop and search to make sure everyone obeys — including Christians.

In Kano on Monday, taxi driver Jamilu mai Babur, a Muslim, was rebellious:

“I will not comply with this useless order because Shariah is not about violating human rights.”Jamilu Hisba, another Muslim driver, agreed but said he would have to obey.

“It’s against Islam, this forceful order, but they have power over us so I must comply because this is my means of survival.”

7 Things Women Usually Lie About

Men should just realize that a woman can never have too many pairs of wedge heels and not place her in the position of lying.

1. THEIR WEIGHT:
One of the things women commonly lie about is their weight. This is probably the thing they most commonly lie about. Even the most honest woman may be shaving five pounds off of her weight when she is asked about it. No woman wants to appear as a large woman. She wants to be seen as petite and delicate.

2. THEIR AGE:
Ageing is difficult, especially for women. As men age, they become more distinguished. As women age, well, we just feel like we become old. And that reality is hard to swallow for some of us so we lie about it. It doesn't make us any younger to lie about our age but it might make us feel a little younger and that is a temptation that many cannot resist.

3. THEIR COOKING: None of us can deny the fact that we live in a very fast paced world. We don’t have time to cook the things we would like to cook as long as we would like to cook them. Many, many women have attempted to pass off a store bought goody as one they prepared themselves. Even if they don’t say it in as many words, they may attempt to give that impression by placing the food item in a personal dish. At the very least, they won’t reveal their secrets.

4. THEIR SHOPPING HABITS
Many women also lie about their shopping habits. But really, that should be understandable. Men should just realize that a woman can never have too many pairs of wedge heels and not place her in the position of lying. Wouldn’t you agree, ladies? Many women lie about their shopping habits to keep an argument down.
 5. THE MONEY THEY SPEND: Going hand in hand with lying about their shopping habits is the fact that many women lie about how much money they spend. They may not totally lie but just stretch the truth a little on this subject. They may spend it on having their hair or nails done, shopping, lunch with a friend or just little inconsequential things. But the temptation to lie about how much money they spend, especially if they are married, can be quite high. A little white lie seems much better than an ugly argument.

6. THEIR MARRIAGE: Many women choose to present a prettier picture than there really is of their marriage. I actually don’t believe that this is totally a bad thing. While I do believe lying outright is very wrong, I believe painting your spouse in the best light is the best thing to do for yourself, for them and your marriage. When you choose to talk positively about your spouse, everybody wins. You feel better about them, they feel better about you and your marriage benefits.

7. THEIR LIFE:
Many women don’t want to admit dissatisfaction with their lives, even to themselves. And while putting on a brave face is a noble thing to do, it isn’t always the best thing to do. If you are struggling with things in your life, go to a friend or a trusted counselor or religious leader for counsel. We all have hard times and we should help each other through them. It is much better to talk about how wonderful your life is when it really is

Gist:Olamide Reveals - "Music Took Me Away From Wandering About The Streets"

It is always fun time when one speaks with Olamide. He’s a friendly entertainer who understands his game very well and has consistently churned out hit tracks. Tribune recently caught up with Olamide where he opened up on his career and how he plans to remain relevant. Excerpts:
What has been happening to Olamide?
A lot of good things have been happening to me and my crew. I have been doing what I love doing and I am getting paid for it. That ordinarily comes with a good feeling, I can’t deny that. I have a lot of things that I am working on right now and we are working day and night to meet up with the demands of the industry. Which is staying on top of your game while you can, having in mind that the phase will soon pass. You have to make sure that you make your stay worth the while.

Is this why you have featured in different singles  more than any other artiste lately and what are you trying to achieve with this?
You know people are very funny. When I was not featuring in other people’s albums or singles, they were the ones saying on twitter and other social media platforms that Olamide is proud, he’s not friendly and all sorts of things that you can’t imagine. But now that I have been working with a whole lot of artistes in the industry, they have come out to say I should give myself a break. I wonder what the people really want? The truth is that you can’t live your life for the people. You have to do what you feel is right for you to keep your career on the right track.
So, you don’t care about what people say about you anymore?
I didn’t mean it like that. What I am trying to say is that if you continue to listen to what people say every time before making your decision, you may not make the right decision at the end of the day and you may also make the right decision. What is important is your attitude to what you do. It does not mean you won’t listen to them or take to their pieces of advice, you just have to be truthful to yourself and make sure you are doing what you believe is in the best interest of your career. I just want to remain on top of my game. I know I have what it takes to run the show for as long as God permits me.  But time will tell. I am growing by the day and I am enjoying every bit of my moment in the industry.
You once said that your hustling days are over, but you don’t seem to be slowing down. You are always at every major show around town…
I am an ambitious young man. I love to always push myself to the limits. We have a lot of things going on in the industry now that would really make you sit tight and buckle up. Asides that, I have gone through a lot before I could arrive at this level, to God be the glory. When I look at where I was coming from and where I am today, it only reminds me of one thing, never stop dreaming big and don’t ever look down on yourself even if nobody believes in you. You have to make sure you have got what it takes to stand the test of time. Olamide didn’t just arrive over night. It has been a very rough journey, but God has been good to me. The truth is that people have not seen the best of Olamide.

You said one should not look down on his or her self; it seems you have a lot beneath that sentence. Could you share some of those rough experiences with us?
Everybody knows my story or let me say I try to let people know my story with the way I sing so that you won’t come and tell me tomorrow or the people that you did or that for me when I was this or that. When I compose my songs, I always try to bring my rough days into retrospect. I remember how I waited many years for my single to be promoted. I was always told to wait. When I couldn’t wait anymore, I had to look for another way round it. A lot of people turned me down because they didn’t believe in me. I have nothing against them because that’s life for you. Everybody can’t believe in your dream, even if it is the most beautiful one. Today, it is practically difficult for anybody to come out and say what I had already said about myself in most of my songs.

Why did you say that?
You know people are funny. I am sure you are aware of how some people could wake up one day and start saying what is not true about your life. So, in order not to be shocked when you hear or see something like that, you have to prepare your mind and that of your fans. I always sing about the story of my life in my songs so that if you say something about it tomorrow, the people would tell you that they heard me say it before.
Now that your dream has been fulfilled and you can also stand on your own, what’s the feeling like?
I feel great. I feel honoured. I feel so happy. But above all, I thank God, to whom I give all glory.

Are you surprised to have arrived at this level?
To an extent, my rise came as a shock but at the same time, my only wish since I was young was to rise above my peers and make a name for myself in whatever good I find myself doing. I strived hard to come out with something everybody would appreciate, plus the recognition that has marked my career. I will say my rise to stardom has not been a fluke. I have worked tirelessly over the years trying to break into the industry and studying the rules of the game so as to become relevant. You don’t want to know how I waited and prayed to taste fame.
How has music changed your life?
Let me say that music took me away from wandering about the streets to doing the right thing at the right time. It has reshaped my life and taught me that hard work, talent and God’s grace are very important in every man’s life. I can say it boldly that those who never believed in me can now see that I carry a special grace. That is why I will remain grateful to ID Cabassa. He was one of the good people God used to turn my life around. I won’t say more than that because I know you would want to probe me further.

Now that music has taken you away from the streets, what do you miss most about it?
I really didn’t miss anything except for the life on the streets. I never wanted to remain on the streets. I have learnt a lot of lessons my brother, but one thing that readily comes to my mind each time I remember where I was coming from is the fact that the secret of success goes beyond making good music. Every right-thinking artiste must possess a good character to sustain the success that comes his way. You must have the character that could help you sustain the test of time. Trust me; rising to stardom comes with a lot of challenges, but you can only overcome them when you have a good sense of understanding

Gist:Actor Kalu Ikeagwu Speaks On Why He Is Still Single

Here is what he told Daily Sun;

“Do I want to get married? Yes. But that would be when I find the right person; I mean that person I love so much and want to spend the rest of my life with; that’s when I’ll settle down.
The reason why I am not married now is that marriage is very important to me. I have come to terms with the fact that marriage is the most important institution from God. And I take that very seriously.

Ultimately I would like my relationship with my wife to be like that between God and the church; that’s why it is important to me. I wouldn’t say it’s been challenging though. I have gone through a lot of experiences that made me wise. When I get married, my experiences would make me a wise, good and a loving father.

I like a woman with a great sense of humor; that’s very important to me. And of course, she has to be very attractive and intelligent. Above everything else she should have a close relationship with God because that’s very important to me as well. That’s exactly why I am yet to get married. I want to be successful in my marriage just as I am in my career.”
